We've been doing lots of senior sessions but Cory's may rank as my favorite. We went to some fun areas that we hadn't been before, tried a lot of things (including climbing a bridge!) and had a great time with her. It probably helped that she's a natural model and totally gorgeous. Oh, and those curls? She says that they "just happen." If only every shoot was this perfect!

Our senior sessions often tend to be a bit more urban, and Macie had a very different idea of what she wanted-- something classic and even a little preppy. But she loved our style, and frankly, we loved hers. And she could not have chosen a more perfect morning to do her session. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and set off the fall colors and gardens (the International Rose Test Gardens and the historic Pittock Mansion perfectly. She was a complete doll to work with, and we hope that she loves her photos.

Sidra is our senior rep from OES, and we finally had a chance to do her full senior portrait session a few weeks ago. She's quite multi-faceted and so we tried to capture all of her: the glam, the naturalist, the just-sort-of-teenager. We had such a fun time on her session that we all just wanted to keep going and finding new things to photograph (including the Vespa that the Mio Gelato owner was kind enough to let us use!) But all good things must come to an end.

Thanks for a great session, Sidra!

We did Shelby's session last weekend on one of those days that photographers cross their fingers and hope for-- the weather was clear and bright, and our "subject" could not have been more perfect either. Shelby literally has personality to spare and was game for anything and everything we asked her to do. She was so much fun to work with that we almost didn't want to stop shooting. I really hope that she loves these senior photos as much as I do.

MacKenzie is our rep from the local art school; we did her mini-session this spring but this was our chance to do a full-blown session with her. She loves the water and waterfront, and so we spent some time with the bridges, walking along through Waterfront Park, and then explored some of the architecture around the old Skidmore district. It was a lot of fun to see the range of her personality-- from pensive artist to laughing out loud teen craziness. She's such a fabulous girl and we hope that her senior year wraps up well.

We did a session last week with Charlotte and oh, my, was she fun to work with! She's one of the most honest and natural people that I've ever met, a total sweetheart, and really funny to boot. And she'd just spent the week with her English cousins and so she was constantly cracking us up with her vernacular. We did part of her session at Kelly Point Park, out on the Columbia, and then moved to Cathedral Park for a bit more of an urban feel. Both reflected her perfectly.

We hope you love these, Charlotte!

Most of our senior session are with seniors entering their final year, but this last week, we shot four best friends who just finished up their senior year and are heading off to college. We played papparazzi for a few hours while they traipsed around the Pearl and, well, just played around together. It was a little bittersweet, knowing that it was one of their last times together, but we really enjoyed being part of it with them.

It's starting to be all about seniors here at RLP, and I'm sure that all of them will be fun, but Sidra's will probably rank among our favorites. She's so chill and laid back, and I think that she only looked at me askance once, when I suggested that she rock out. She wasn't quite sure what to do with that. The best part of the session, though, was when we gained the fabulously impromptu backdrop of a moving train. There was something so cool about having her standing still while the train rushed past. I know that I'm biased but the shots are really, really cool.

Oh, and speaking of seniors: If you're interested in booking a session with us, calling soon would be a great idea as we're booking up! Our sessions are fresh and funky and unique, and always in a place that really captures the heart of our subject. Call us today to schedule a consultation.

Alex is our rep from Lincoln High School, and though we found her late in the season, we are thrilled to have her on board. When we sat down to do her consultation, an idea formed that was so perfect and fun that I absolutely could not wait to do it-- so we did her shoot that afternoon. And it was an absolute ball! The juxtaposition of the richness of her dress with the decay of the building that we shot in was perfect. And then, for a little more fun, we took her to our favorite railroad tracks. I already know that she loves them-- we picked out her rep cards that night-- but now here she is for all the world to see.

By the way, now is a good time to start scheduling your senior session. Our sessions are fun, on-location, and completely tailored to whatever you can envision. We tend to book up fairly quickly during the summer and deadlines for many schools are in September. Check out our packages at our website.

We did another senior representative shoot on Saturday with Ashley, our rep from Century High School. We went down to the Dawson Creek bottoms and shot among the green space. The only lament? They'd closed all of the bridges so we had to get a little bit more creative about getting around the creek. But shooting Ashley was a breeze.

Oh, and she reminds me of at least one of you, and one of your sisters. Weird, eh?

The Pearl is turning into quite the destination for senior shoots! We had a great time wandering around with Laura on this bright Saturday, a total fluke in the weather pattern that we've been having. She was game for pretty much anything and so we used a lot of different locations and backdrops. We were having so much fun that we almost went for sushi!

When we asked Rahael what she was looking for in a location, she said, "Well, I'm really into nature." So we did a large chunk of her shoot up in Forest Park, and then mixed some of the more organic elements of the Pearl in as well.

We shot Dylan's shoot in downtown, and our backdrops included one of my favorite buildings-- City Hall. He seemed so comfortable there that we joked that he should be mayor someday. Who knows? He'd certainly have our vote. We thoroughly enjoyed traipsing around the city with him.

Erin's shoot was done in a few of the industrial areas of the city-- first along Water Avenue near the East Bank Esplanade, and then on the opposite side of the river and one of the city's bridges. It suited her perfectly, and so much so that choosing just a few images was more work than we would have expected.

The day that we shot Amanda's senior portraits could not have been more perfect. The air was had a bit of an edge to it but was still warm enough for us to wander around-- first at the base of Forest Park and then down into the Northwest district. And Amanda was the perfect model, a complete natural. As we were finishing, she said, "You know, I kind of like having people take pictures of me." I think I see some more work in her future!
