| Someone asked us recently what we specialize in and without really thinking, I said, "We specialize in emotion." I guess the answers that come first are always the most true because what we do best, and what we love to do, is seeing the love and beauty and whimsy in each of life's moments. We've been having a fabulous time over the last few weeks being steeped in all things weddings, between showcasing at Art of Weddings, having our first listing in the the 2009 Bravo Guide, and meeting with so many lovely couples as they plan the biggest day of their lives. And then today, we got to see our "real wedding" in Style Unveiled go live! We photographed Aimee and BJ's amazingly romantic ceremony last summer and the Style Unveiled editors were thrilled to feature their very green (both in hue and theme) wedding as part of their focus on eco-chicness. We couldn't be more pleased! If you're engaged and looking for a photographer, we hope that you'll visit our site at www.rlweddings.com. We'd love to see your day through our hybrid of classic images and fresh, quirky, modern portraiture. | |

| We met Michelle and Dean what feels like forever ago. Dean was living in Seattle when they were looking for photographers and so Michelle came by herself, and while we typically like to meet both people before booking, she was so sweet that we signed the deal that night. Not long after, we got together for drinks with them, just to make sure, and we knew right there that we would LOVE shooting their wedding. And we were right. They chose the beautiful Jenkins Estate for their ceremony and reception and it fit them perfectly. It was a beautiful, sentimental, amazing affair, and we loved every minute of it. Congratulations, guys!

| We're photographing Dean and Michelle's wedding in a few weeks out at the beautiful Jenkins Estate out in country, and so they chose to do a session to showcase their urban side. As with many of our sessions, we chose a fun location and then just tooled around, finding different backdrops and things to do. I love it when couples just go with the flow and allow us to capture the essence of their relationship. Dean and Michelle are so fun, and funny, and photographing them was a tremendous amount of, well, fun. I can't wait to shoot their wedding! It's going to be a blast.

| We're finally catching up on our blogging, and first in line is the fabulous weddding of Dane and Kathryn. Their rehearsal went up last week but I had so many favorites from the wedding that it's been impossible to narrow them down! The wedding was at the Oregon Golf Club and I think that I can say with a surety that everyone had an amazing time, from all of Kathryn and Dane's buddies hanging out with them before the ceremony to the last people to leave the dance floor when the dj ( Kevin of Mobile Music Enterainment) finally shut the party down. Their wedding was beautiful and spontaneous and full of so many friends and laughs that my cheeks literally hurt at the end of the night from laughing so hard. K & D, we hope that you love these as much as we loved taking them for you.

| We had the wonderful pleasure of photographing Dane and Kathryn's wedding, beginning on Thursday night with their rehearsal at the Oregon Golf Club and then a celebratory dinner at Andina. The rehearsal was sweet and funny and all things that a rehearsal should be, as they practiced their vows along with all of their family and friends. The dinner was fabulous as well-- lots of mingling and toasting and well wishing to a couple with a bevy of people preparing to wish them well.

| We photographed Dane and Kathryn's rehearsal dinner at Andina, which just happens to be our favorite restaurant in town. We go there any chance we get and so we were thrilled when we found out that we'd be photographing an event there. In between taking photographs of all the merriment, Will was able to grab some of the food and decor, and so we thought we'd post a small homage to this wonderful establishment.

| We joined Naomi and Chris at the beach last weekend for their lovely and very intimate wedding-- including them, there were 11 attendees! But it was just what they wanted. Their families were there to share in this most special of moments with them, and we all had a great time fete-ing their love with champagne & strawberries (well, we just had strawberries, and some of their amazing cake). Afterwards, we took them into Cannon Beach proper for a fun photo session. I love doing them in town because everyone gets so excited seeing people in wedding attire! We finished with shots on the beach as the sun began to make its descent into the ocean. It was a simply beautiful day with a great couple. Congratulations, guys.

| We photographed Aimee and BJ's wedding this last weekend and it was such a lovely affair. Their theme was green, and it was more than just a color statement. The event was held at McIver Park, to reduce the resources used, and every effort was made to have the wedding be as sustainable and simple as possible. But it was not only all of those things, it was the celebration of two fabulous friends. They met in college and have been together ever since, and their wedding was full of testaments to the power of connection. Even their vows were true to the tone-- simple, and yet so powerful that even I cried! It was a remarkable evening to be a part of.

| I've decided that my favorite wedding may always be the one that I've just shot, but Allie and Greg will likely rank as one of my favorite wedding couples of all time. They were so much fun to work with, as were their friends and family, many who have been a part of their lives for years and years. They were just hilarious, even though the temps reached over 100 degrees that day. I have about 100 favorite pictures already, but I've whittled it down a bit for the sake of your viewing pleasure.

| R & M's wedding was the coming together of not only two people, but also two families and a multitude of friends from literally all over the world. The coincidences of the relationships were many, and it was fun to see everyone celebrate this beautiful couple. Their ceremony was held in Portland, but their reception was in Seattle, so we were only with them for a few hours. R & M: We hope that the rest of your day was perfect!

| H & D's wedding was this weekend-- a perfect, beautiful day here in the Northwest. They held the ceremony in their tiny courtyard, which suited their small party perfectly, and the entire celebration was just, well, perfect. They've been together since high school, just doing life and looking forward to being together, and seeing them move on into their life was an intimate and moving experience for everyone involved.

| We shot C & N's engagement shoot this last week as a mix of urban and country (and the whole evening, I had "I'm a little bit country/I'm a little bit rock and roll" in my head), something that's quite easy to do here in P-town. We love our e-sessions: they come with all of our wedding packages and give us a fun chance to get to know the couple, their shooting preferences, and better plan for their wedding. We spent the whole evening joking about our geek roots and C & N were fun to watch clowning around. He's kind of dead-pan and she just rolls right along with it. Their wedding isn't until January (it's going to be a beautiful winter affair at the Portland Hilton), but these should tide them over until then.

| We shot K & J's wedding last week at Cannon Beach at the beautiful Surfsand Resort. It was a whirlwind weekend-- we were there for the rehearsal/family dinner/sand baseball/bonfire the night before, and then of course the wedding itself. Their families are a large part of their lives and the jubilance of their celebration reflected that, even through an on-slaught of rain just as the ceremony started and less than favorable conditions at other moments of the weekend. Everyone just took it in stride and said, "We're here. We're together. Let's make it beautiful." And it was, and they were, and we were honored to be a part of this amazing union of two people who we now count as friends.
